Monday Monday....
Wow what a weekend!
I went to a mom's conference called Hearts at Home with three of my goodest friends. We left on Thursday afternoon and came home, well VERY early on Saturday morning. That whole time I got a whopping 90 MINUTES of sleep. Yes. One and a half hours. This is from a girl who BARELY functions at home on anything less than 9 hours. I am still catching up. I am WAY too old to be doing stuff like that!
It was just - have you ever just started talking with someone and you kept talking and talking and talking and it was just like totally therapeutic to finally get it all totally out in the open? It is amazing what getting some thoughts out of your head and into the big blue open will do to give you a new perspective.
anyways - we made it to the conference and it was so very good. It is all about really trying to encourage us as moms, who in our jobs don't get a performance review or a pat on the back or anyone telling us - hey, they may throw fits in the grocery store every once in a while, but you're on the right track, they will be fine adults. So it was very soothing to the soul, and if nothing else, just a good break from the kiddo's to realize how very much you miss them.
Miss Sara Groves was also in concert that nite. If you have never heard her music, wow, you are missing out. she just has such a way of writing down and singing about the things that go through your head on a daily basis. i love her music. i heart it. the link above is to her website where it talks about all her music, i think you can hear previews of it, link to itunes to buy some. Anyways - i was just overwhelmed with emotion at her concert. She sings about being a mom and her love for her kids and you are just like - oh my gosh - YES - you get it! I can't explain it. If you have ever heard you music, you know what i am talking about. If you haven't, but want a song recommendation or two for your itunes purchase - let me know!
In other news...
Still no help on the skincare front yet! I have not even had a chance to go out shopping and looking. i am thinking of hitting the Sephora store in a little while. Or i MAY just wait till our "vacation" (I put that in quotes because our vacation started out as a me and ben only trip to vegas, and ended up as a ROAD TRIP, with the KIDS, to my MOTHER IN LAW's house in TEXAS. - need I say more...)
anyways - if i hold out till then, ben may be so overwhelmed with guilt that he allows me to spend like a madwoman at the mall, or MIL who is a beauty product freak will "help" me figure out what i need and then offer to buy it all for me, or i may get to go shopping by myself period and actually have time to peruse. So... while I normally would buy all this stuff in anticipation of looking good for vacation, it may behoove me this time to hold off for a while! We shall see.
It is getting PAINFULLY close to laptop buying time!
Ben STILL is all - well I just don't really see why you NEED one.
Do you HAVE to need everything you purchase in life? Did he NEED his kawasaki @%(7251JX crotch rocket? did he NEED his own ipod? Does he NEED me to beat him over the head with my 17 inch 8 lb new baby when i purchase it? GRRRRRRRR.......
the most frustrating thing about that - he says it WHILE he sits at MY DESK on MY COMPUTER playing POKER online and downloading god only knows what sort of viruses and spyware while I could be working/scrapping/chatting.

So tonite is bunco. Hopefully my darling sissy can watch my kidlets for me so I can go win some moola!!
I have mountains upon hills of laundry. I should get off my booty, off the computer and start fulfilling more housewifely duties.
I will have more exciting and funny stuff to share later/tomorrow i promise!
